Elections
The Academic Advising Council (AAC) will be holding yearly elections for three seats on the council, one for a University College advisor, one for a Special Populations advisor, and one Department/School advisor. AAC is an advisory council to the Office of the Provost. AAC discusses and promotes systems and policies that are necessary to the overall effectiveness and cohesiveness of campus-wide academic advising. The Council acts as the voice of academic advisors at Illinois State. The Council typically meets twice per month, and the day and time is subject to change, based on the availability of Council members. Terms will be for a 2-year period, 2023 and 2024 calendar years. For more information, please see Academic Advising Council’s constitution page.
Elections: Elections will take place Wednesday, November 30th through Friday, December 2nd through my.IllinoisState.edu. Election results will be announced on Monday, December 5th. The newly elected members will be notified by e-mail with a follow up announcement to the advisor listserv.
Voting: Consistent with the structure of AP elections and the spirit of shared governance, all advisors eligible to vote may vote for one person in the University College category, one person in the Special Populations category, and one person in the Department/School category.
Eligibility to vote: All employees with significant academic advising responsibilities will be eligible to vote, regardless of their title (academic advisor, assistant to the chair, associate professor, etc).
