Academic Advisors

Academic advisors play a critical, student-centered role in advancing student success by serving as a vital connection to initiatives such as early grade alerts, interventions, the Redbird Care Team, proactive outreach, and academic support services.  While advisors operate within a decentralized model, they share a common responsibility to create meaninful linkages for students--reflecting the relational foundation of academic advising as outlined by the NACADA Core Competencies. These connections extend throughout a student's entire academic journey, from enrollment to graduation, ensuring continuity and personalized support.  This work aligns with the University's Strategic Plan metrics focused on retention, persistence, and graduation, and is supported by the Academic Advising Council, which fosters collaboration and consistency across advising units.
